This time, HTEC-video visited Guangxi Xianhe New Material Co., Ltd., located in Sanjiangkou New District, Laibin City, Guangxi. This is not a traditional paper-making enterprise, but a major project focusing on the R&D and production of high-end specialty paper, covering an area of more than 5,000 mu with a fully intelligent industrial chain. During this visit, HTEC-video mainly deployed an infrared thermal imaging temperature measurement system for an alkali recovery boiler here, which is more than 60 meters high and with an annual output of over 1.2 million tons, to achieve data-driven upgrades.


The internal environment of the alkali boiler is quite complex, with temperatures reaching up to 1400°C. During combustion, alkaline dust and potential molten material may splash, and the viscous substances are corrosive. In the past, to ensure safe and efficient production, engineers mainly relied on instrument data and years of on-site experience, judging the furnace conditions based on the sound and flame color and arranging scheduled shutdown inspections.


To reduce unnecessary losses and investment, HTEC-video brought a brand-new solution this time — equipping the furnace with an infrared “eye,” allowing everything inside the furnace to be clearly visible. This professional infrared thermal imaging system is deployed at key monitoring points of the alkali recovery boiler. Its core equipment is an infrared thermal imaging camera specifically designed for alkali recovery furnaces. It can penetrate smoke interference inside the furnace in a non-contact and all-weather manner, capturing and generating high-resolution thermal images of temperature field distribution of the combustion surface, furnace walls, and key areas in real time.

The black viscous material dripping inside the alkali boiler easily blocks the viewing window and contaminates the lens. Therefore, the system is equipped with an automatic scraper device. Controlled by an independent intelligent electric control box, it automatically and periodically activates based on preset programs or trigger instructions, accurately removing condensation on the observation window surface, ensuring a continuously clean infrared viewing window and reliable real-time monitoring data.

“In the past, during inspection and judgment, we always felt a constant tension, because some hidden risks were truly invisible,” said a technician responsible for the safety of the alkali boiler. “Now, with one click, we can see the temperature ‘ECG’ of the entire furnace wall. Any abnormal heating is clearly visible through color changes. Everything becomes controllable.”
