HTEC-video and ANDRITZ Advance Monitoring Projects in the Pulp and Paper Industry
HTEC-video is pleased to share the latest progress in its collaboration with ANDRITZ in the pulp and paper industry. Four projects are currently underway, involving six rotary kiln shell scanner systems and two black liquor recovery boiler monitoring systems, providing temperature monitoring and process visualization for critical industrial equipment.
Rotary Kiln Shell Temperature Monitoring
Six shell scanner systems will be deployed across three lime kilns, each measuring 125 meters in length and equipped with two scanners. The systems are designed to monitor shell surface temperature distribution and identify potential hot spots.Through continuous temperature scanning and hot spot alarms, the systems help operators detect abnormal temperature patterns and assess potential risks to the kiln shell and refractory bricks. This information supports equipment condition monitoring, maintenance planning, and safer kiln operation.

Black Liquor Recovery Boiler Monitoring
The project also includes two infrared thermal imaging and temperature monitoring systems for a black liquor recovery boiler with a processing capacity of 3,000 dry tonnes of solids per day (3,000 dts/d). As a key component of the chemical recovery process in pulp and paper production, the recovery boiler plays an important role in mill operations. Thermal monitoring provides valuable information on furnace conditions, helping operators monitor operating conditions and identify potential abnormalities.
Project Progress and Next Steps
Of the six rotary kiln shell scanner systems, four have already been delivered. The remaining two scanner systems and both black liquor recovery boiler monitoring systems are currently in the delivery phase.
The next stage will focus on on-site installation and commissioning. As the projects progress toward operation, HTEC-video will continue to share updates on installation and practical applications.
Through these projects, HTEC-video continues to apply its industrial monitoring expertise to the pulp and paper industry, supporting greater process visibility and equipment condition monitoring.
