The pulp and paper industry relies heavily on boilers in processes such as cooking and steam drying, and their operational safety and thermal efficiency directly affect production quality and energy costs.
Traditional manual inspection methods have long inspection cycles and slow response times. The infrared thermal imaging monitoring system developed by HTEC-video can monitor the furnace temperature field in real time, 24 hours a day, and visualize the internal furnace conditions.

Key Features of HTEC-video’s Infrared Boiler Monitoring System
At this exhibition, HTEC-video is focusing on showcasing high-temperature thermal cameras and infrared cameras for harsh boiler environments, along with supporting image analysis software designed for paper mill boiler operations.
The infrared boiler monitoring system adopts 3.9 μm infrared imaging technology, combined with water-cooling and air-cooling protection and a high-temperature-resistant optical window design, capable of withstanding up to 2000°C, and can operate stably for long periods under harsh high-temperature and high-humidity conditions.
In addition, the system supports real-time data transmission and historical trend analysis, enabling operation and maintenance teams to carry out refined management and predictive maintenance for recovery boilers.
Advanced Protection and Automation
The core components of the entire infrared boiler monitoring system include an automatic retraction device and a slag removal device.
The purpose is to improve equipment automation, service life, and convenience, as well as to provide a clearer view of furnace conditions. In the event of cooling air interruption, power failure, or overtemperature, the retraction device will automatically withdraw the lens from the furnace to prevent it from being burned.
The slag removal device is designed to automatically clean the observation port of dust before the lens extends into the boiler, preventing contamination of the lens.
In addition, due to both splashing black liquor and large amounts of alkali and Glauber’s salt dust inside the furnace, the lens section is equipped with a dedicated cooling and purging method. A rotating air curtain is formed at the lens front end, increasing both the strength and coverage of the air curtain, ensuring cooling while also preventing furnace dust from splashing onto the lens—keeping infrared thermal imaging monitoring accurate and clear.
